IRAN, Qajars. Fath 'Ali Shah, as Shah, AH 1212-1250 / AD 1797-1834. Toman (Gold, 22 mm, 6.12 g, 3 h), type S1, Tehran, AH 1214 = 1799/1800. The king’s name and title, ‘al-sulṭān Fatḥ ʿAlī Shāh Qājār 1214’ (‘Sultan Fath ʿAli Shah Qajar. 1214’ in Arabic/Persian). Rev. Within a circle, ‘zarb-e dār al-salṭana Ṭehrān’ (‘Struck in the Abode of the Sultanate Tehran’ in Persian); above, ‘al-ʿizza lillāh’ (‘Might belongs to Allah’ in Arabic). Album 2859. Rare. Minor areas of weakness and the obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
